First Missions in Australia: May 2006 Fr. Ben J. Cameron, C.P.M. Rural Victoria
The "Presbytery" (Priests' House) at St. Joseph's Parish, Rochester; this was our "home base" for the Missions
During my final days in Australia, Fr. Peter Austin and I visited Echuca on the Murray River and took a ride on one of the old "paddle-steamers" that are still in use on the Murray
Another Murray River Paddle-Steamer
One of my all-time favorite movies is "The Man from Snowy River." Fr. Austin and Fr. Brian Kerry took me to visit the town of Corryon which is where the real "Man from Snowy River" is buried. This is a picture of the real man -- Jack Riley
Fr. Ben at the Grave of Jack Riley. Riley was an Irish Catholic immigrant who lived most of his life in the Australian Mountains; we were delighted to learn that he had the assistance of a priest before his death
The beautiful mountains of the "Great Dividing Range"
Fathers Austin and Kerry insisted that I be in a few pictures so that I could prove that I was really there!
